Overview
PrayBeam is designed to keep personal prayer within trusted groups. The app helps people send prayer notes to loved ones through private groups and an iPhone widget.
Prayer content is not used for ads, analytics, public feeds, or automated prayer generation. PrayBeam does not store prayer text on PrayBeam-owned servers or Cloudflare Worker/D1. App data is stored locally on your device and, where sharing or sync is needed, through Apple services such as iCloud/CloudKit. PrayBeam also uses a Cloudflare Worker/D1 database for APNs device-token routing, privacy-safe notification delivery metadata, delivery deduplication, and Sign in with Apple account-deletion token revocation support.
Data PrayBeam May Process
Depending on how you use PrayBeam, the app may process:
- Your Sign in with Apple identifier.
- Your name from Sign in with Apple if Apple provides it during sign-in, and any name you choose to enter or edit in PrayBeam.
- Optional profile details such as display name, photo, and location.
- Prayer groups and member information.
- Prayer text and prayer metadata, stored through Apple CloudKit for group sharing and not on PrayBeam-owned servers or Cloudflare Worker/D1.
- Prayer responses such as Amen, prayer seen, praying for you, or thinking of you.
- Notification permission and device notification state.
- APNs device tokens used to route notifications.
- Privacy-safe notification delivery metadata needed to deliver notifications without storing prayer text.
- Sign in with Apple account-deletion token revocation support data.
Where Data Is Stored
- Local device storage for app data on your device.
- Apple iCloud/CloudKit for private/shared group sharing and sync where needed.
- Cloudflare Worker/D1 for APNs device-token routing, privacy-safe notification delivery metadata, delivery deduplication, and Sign in with Apple account-deletion token revocation support. Prayer text is not stored there.
- The iOS App Group container so the widget can display prayers.
- Keychain for authentication-related values.
- Apple App Store and StoreKit for subscription status once subscriptions are enabled.
What PrayBeam Does Not Do
- No ads.
- No third-party analytics.
- No public prayer feed.
- No selling personal data.
- No AI-generated prayers.
- No prayer text stored on PrayBeam-owned servers or Cloudflare Worker/D1.
CloudKit and iCloud
Shared groups use Apple CloudKit. Group members can see prayer content intended for that group or recipient.
Prayer text used for group sharing is stored through Apple CloudKit, not on PrayBeam-owned servers or Cloudflare Worker/D1.
Public invite metadata may be used to let people join groups, but prayer text is not stored in public invite records.
Notifications
Notification text does not include prayer text. Notifications may include a sender name and group name so you can understand where the notification came from.
iOS notification delivery is controlled by Apple and by your device settings.
PrayBeam uses a Cloudflare Worker/D1 database to route APNs device tokens and store privacy-safe notification delivery metadata needed for delivery and deduplication. Prayer text is not stored in this database.
This notification metadata may include APNs device tokens, app environment, user or device routing identifiers, event IDs, recipient identifiers, group identifiers or names, notification type, timestamps, delivery and deduplication metadata, and privacy-safe deep-link routing metadata.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store and StoreKit. Apple may provide subscription status and transaction information required to unlock paid features. If subscriptions are enabled, PrayBeam uses Apple StoreKit subscription status only to unlock paid features.
Subscriptions and refunds are handled through Apple. You may request a refund through Apple’s official refund process where eligible.
Account Deletion
You can delete your PrayBeam account in the app. Deletion removes your local PrayBeam profile, local prayer history, local responses, widget data, and authentication state from your device. If you own a group, PrayBeam attempts to delete that group for its members. If you joined a group, PrayBeam attempts to leave that group before local data is removed.
PrayBeam may also use its Cloudflare Worker to support Sign in with Apple token revocation where technically available.
Because PrayBeam uses Apple CloudKit for sharing, some data that was already shared or synced may remain on other members’ devices or in Apple CloudKit according to Apple’s CloudKit behavior and group state.
App Deletion and Reinstall
If you delete the app from your device, local on-device data is removed by iOS. If you reinstall PrayBeam and sign in again, the app may be able to recover group membership from Apple CloudKit, but local prayer history and response history may not be restored.
Website
This website is hosted separately from the app and does not use tracking cookies or analytics unless explicitly added later.
Server logs may process IP address, request path, user agent, and timestamp for security and operations.
